How do I take my injections?

Updated September 2, 2026

First injection nerves are completely normal — and it's easier than you think. Your patient portal includes step-by-step injection instructions, including a video walkthrough you can follow along with.

The basics:

  1. Wash your hands and gather your vial, syringe, and an alcohol swab.

  2. Draw up the exact dose your clinician prescribed — no more, no less.

  3. Inject subcutaneously (just under the skin) in your stomach or thigh, rotating sites each week.

  4. Dispose of the needle safely in a sharps container or a sturdy, sealed plastic container.

Want a live walkthrough? Book an appointment with your clinician in your patient portal — they'll happily guide you through your first injection.

Never adjust your dose on your own. If you have questions about how much to take, ask your clinician before injecting.
